NOLA Chess Club is currently searching for a dynamic individual to serve as the organization’s chess club coordinator. The club coordinator will be responsible for being present at weekly chess gatherings and will be dedicated to growing the game of chess in the New Orleans area. The coordinator does not need to be a chess master but must have a strong interest in chess and in meeting and playing chess against players of all levels. An outgoing personally is a must. The chess club coordinator will also occasionally represent the club at area festivals when needed.

Requirements and Responsibilities

  • Interest in the game of chess and a willingness to help spread the game in the New Orleans area.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of the rules of chess as you will serve as the point person for questions regarding rules and games.
  • Ability to lead 4 or 5 chess gatherings per month (minimum of 10 hours per month).
  • Ability to photograph club meetings and forward those images to the club director for use on the club website.
  • Keep a contact log of players attending gathering and forwarding the info to the club director for addition to the club mailing list.
  • Candidates should posses a USCF membership and have their own chess set and clock.
